Tangtang’s rerun in Arknights: Endfield, the Ancestral Spring Flows Anew banner, runs from October 29, 2026 at 12:00 to November 19, 2026 at 11:59 server time, and Zimen’s answer is that she is still worth pulling, above all for a small roster. He also changes how she should be built: the MI Security set, not Bonekrusha, which his calculator puts about 10% behind.

This guide follows Zimen’s 12-minute 1.6 Tangtang video, uploaded October 29, 2026, the day the rerun opened. Zimen builds his own damage calculator from the game’s stat and damage formulas, and the gear and Potential figures below are his. Skill and gear text is read off the game screens in his footage; his English subtitles are used where the voice is in Korean. Every in-game number is checked against this site’s Tangtang build page and gear data, and where the two disagree the page says so. The banner times come from this site’s banner schedule.

When is the Tangtang rerun?

The rerun is the second banner of version 1.6. It is listed in this site’s schedule as RE-Factor Headhunting #1, named Ancestral Spring Flows Anew, and runs for three weeks.

Times are server time, as this site’s banner schedule records them. Her signature handcannon, Brigand’s Calling, reruns alongside her from October 29.

Is Tangtang worth pulling in 1.6?

Zimen’s verdict is “an operator you won’t regret pulling,” with one condition attached to the account. With few limited operators, he strongly recommends her: she can lead a complete team of free operators, and the more 6★ operators you add, the more teams she fits. If you already own Infliction supports such as Arcane or Si, he says to think twice.

Endfield Tangtang strengths slide from Zimen: reduces the SP cost of Cryo Infliction by 20, marked unique, plus Main DPS damage and debuffs
8:31 Zimen’s summary: Tangtang cuts the SP cost of every Cryo Infliction by 20, which no other operator does.

That SP cut is the reason she stays relevant. Her combo skill RIVER, TO ME! creates a Whirlpool, and every Whirlpool her battle skill converts into a Waterspout returns SP. Zimen counts it as one Infliction, one combo skill, 20 SP back: in effect, every Cryo Infliction the team applies costs 20 SP less.

7:51 The battle skill at Rank 9: 100 SP, 300% per Waterspout, and 20 SP returned per Whirlpool consumed.

He also calls her the closest stand-in for a Cryo Arcane: without Arcane, Tangtang copies Inflictions for the team, and for Cryo she applies them faster. His proof that she holds up in hard content is the official tournament.

9:21 A 53-point Contingency Contract clear from the official tournament, one point under the maximum of 54, with Tangtang as the Infliction caster.

She fits Rossi’s Physical teams as well, and our best teams page lists her in Yvonne, Last Rite and Xaihi squads. Si’s own best teams use her too, as our Si build guide shows.

How do you play Tangtang: dash cancel and dive attack

Her kit turns on the battle skill, and Zimen lists three things to master. First, IMA WAVERIDAAH! gives full super armor. It does not reduce damage, but even heavy stagger will not cancel the cast, so the damage window is guaranteed, or you can use it to sit through an attack.

Second, the moment a dive completes, the Waterspout is guaranteed. That allows two tricks: one extra battle skill always fits before the ultimate, and the battle skill can be dash-cancelled. Zimen calls the cancel “mandatory”. Without it, two battle skills and the ultimate end the window; with it, the dive attack fits too.

3:26 Battle, ultimate, two battles, dive: four Waterspouts and exactly four Cryo stacks.

Third, the dive attack. If it does not come out reliably, basic attack once, hold the button and spam jump; it triggers by itself. Jumping first and then attacking does not work, as his side-by-side clip shows.

How do her talent and P5 really scale?

Zimen corrects a common reading of her talent, Riot Bringer. Its bonus is a damage increase, so it adds to the other damage increases from her weapon and gear sets; it does not multiply the Waterspout’s skill ratio by 1.6.

Endfield Tangtang talent node Riot Bringer in the Ability Matrix, with the note that its damage increase adds to weapon and set bonuses
3:51 Riot Bringer: a damage increase that adds to the weapon and the gear set, not a multiplier.

P5, Chief’s All-Eldritch Gaze, raises the ultimate’s DMG Multiplier to 1.15 times and adds +80% to Waterspouts created by the ultimate. Zimen’s point is that this stacks with the talent rather than replacing it: by his count the ultimate’s dive Waterspout reaches +140%, not +80%.

Endfield Tangtang Potential 5 Chief’s All-Eldritch Gaze panel: ultimate DMG Multiplier 1.15 times, Waterspout damage +80%
4:06 P5 adds +80% on top of the talent; it does not raise it from 60% to 80%.

One disagreement: Zimen works from a 60% talent bonus, while the Riot Bringer text in this site’s data reads +40% DMG Dealt for those Waterspouts. The P5 text, +80% and 1.15 times, matches the data exactly. Either way, he adds that P5 matters less than it looks, because saving the ultimate for the end of a fight leaves no time for three dive Waterspouts.

Qingbo or Bonekrusha: what is Tangtang’s best gear?

Neither is the top pick in Zimen’s calculator. Bonekrusha, the set many players built at launch, “isn’t very good,” and the Bio-Slab kit does not help it.

Endfield Tangtang gear screen with the Bonekrusha armor, gloves and kits crossed out in red by Zimen
4:36 Bonekrusha, crossed out: the set Zimen says costs Tangtang players the most.

In 1.6 he gives her three options, by situation:

Set3-piece effect (game text)When to use it
MI SecurityCritical Rate +5%; ATK +5% per critical hit for 5 s, up to 5 stacks, then another +5% Critical RateMaximum damage
QingboCombo Skill Cooldown Reduction +15%; Skill DMG Dealt +20% for 15 s after a combo skill, up to 2 stacksSmoother play in Arcane or Last Rite teams
Eternal XiraniteHP +1000; teammates gain DMG Dealt +16% for 15 s after she applies Amp, Protected, Susceptibility or WeakenedMore Infliction through Ultimate Gain
BonekrushaATK +15%; next battle skill DMG Dealt +30% after a combo skill, 2 stacksNot recommended

4:46 The MI Security build, 3 of 3 equipped.

Zimen tested his calculator against the game before trusting it: at 0 stacks, it predicted Bonekrusha would beat a Slab build, and an in-game test on a Potential 5 account agreed. Run across every practical combination, MI Security came out ahead in nearly all of them.

Endfield Tangtang buff comparison sheet by Zimen, JaKub against Ginseng buffs, showing MI set about 10% stronger in most situations
5:56 Zimen’s buff comparison: MI Security is about 10% stronger in most situations.

His figure for the gap is 8.9% to 11.4% more damage than Bonekrusha. Qingbo deals less damage than Bonekrusha, but applies to all skills and makes Cryo teams flow better since Arcane and Si arrived.

Endfield Tangtang wearing the Qingbo set, 3 of 3 equipped, with Combo Skill Cooldown Reduction in the set effect
4:56 The Qingbo build: less damage, faster combo skills.

This site’s Tangtang page currently lists Qingbo as her core set, with MI Security, Bonekrusha and Eternal Xiranite as the other sets. Zimen’s calculator ranks MI Security first for damage; Qingbo is his pick only when smoother rotations matter more than the last 10%.

Can she keep 5 MI Security stacks without crit?

Yes, by Zimen’s test. MI Security only pays at 5 stacks, and each stack needs a critical hit. His answer is her hit count: “TangTang basically uses a sawed-off shotgun, not a hand cannon.” A Waterspout hits 12 times and a full combo makes up to 6 Whirlpools, so even about 10% Critical Rate keeps the stacks, and the set’s own +5% at max stacks makes it steadier.

6:31 Five stacks held with basic attacks alone.

A food buff makes it nearly permanent: Zimen says the Ginseng dish’s 11% Critical Rate keeps 5 stacks almost all the time.

When should you use the Ultimate Gain build?

When the team needs more Cryo Infliction than damage. Zimen pairs the Eternal Xiranite set with OBJ Velocitous, a 5★ handcannon with Ultimate Gain Efficiency, and brings the ultimate back every three or four battle skills and two combo skills. Because the ultimate also applies Cryo, it feeds the combo loop.

His attribute screen for that build reads Ultimate Gain Efficiency 218.3%, with Agility 387 as the main attribute.

7:11 218.3% Ultimate Gain Efficiency on Tangtang’s stat sheet.

Which weapon and Potential should you get?

By Zimen’s calculation, Brigand’s Calling is about 11% stronger than her battle pass handcannon, and Wedge at its Potential 5 lands close to the battle pass weapon. Signature weapon Potentials add only about 20%, and he says they matter less now that Arcane and Si already apply damage-taken increases. This site lists Brigand’s Calling first and Long Road as the 4★ budget option.

On her own Potentials, his sheet is blunt. Going from P0 to P2 makes her only 7% to 8% stronger as a DPS, and he estimates P2 costs about 240 pulls.

Endfield Tangtang Potential sheet by Zimen for two Xaihi, Gilberta teams: P2 makes her only 7 to 8% stronger
10:16 Two test teams, one conclusion: P2 adds 7% to 8%.

So the right gear, about 10% from MI Security alone, is worth more than two Potentials. The one he does recommend is P1, Reserve Hoard: the combo skill’s multiplier rises to 1.2 times, its cooldown drops by 2 seconds, and each Whirlpool turned into a Waterspout returns 5 more SP. If you have her at P0, he suggests picking up P1 during the rerun. For where she ranks today, see our tier list.

Steps

  1. Open with the battle skill. Cast IMA WAVERIDAAH! first: it gives full super armor, so even heavy stagger will not interrupt the cast.
  2. Dash-cancel the battle skill. Dash right after the shot to cut the animation. Without the cancel, two battle skills and the ultimate do not fit before the dive attack.
  3. Cast the ultimate, then two more battle skills. Follow Zimen’s order: battle skill, ultimate, battle skill, battle skill, so the Whirlpools are ready when the dive lands.
  4. Finish with the dive attack. Basic attack once, hold the button and spam jump: the dive triggers on its own and turns the Whirlpools into four Waterspouts, four Cryo stacks.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Tangtang rerun in Endfield?

Tangtang’s rerun banner, Ancestral Spring Flows Anew, runs from October 29, 2026 at 12:00 to November 19, 2026 at 11:59 server time, in version 1.6. Her signature weapon Brigand’s Calling reruns at the same time.

Is Tangtang worth pulling in 1.6?

Yes for a small roster, according to Zimen’s October 29, 2026 guide: she can lead a team of free operators and cuts the SP cost of every Cryo Infliction by 20. With Arcane or Si already owned, he says to think twice.

Qingbo or Bonekrusha for Tangtang?

Neither for maximum damage. Zimen’s calculator puts MI Security 8.9% to 11.4% ahead of Bonekrusha. Qingbo deals a little less than Bonekrusha but makes Arcane and Last Rite teams smoother; this site’s build page lists Qingbo as her core set (October 2026).

What is Tangtang’s best weapon?

Brigand’s Calling, her 6-star signature handcannon, about 11% stronger than her battle pass weapon by Zimen’s calculation. OBJ Velocitous suits his Ultimate Gain build, and Long Road is the 4-star budget option.

Can Tangtang keep MI Security stacks without crit?

Yes. Zimen shows five stacks held with basic attacks alone: a Waterspout hits 12 times, so about 10% Critical Rate is enough, and the Ginseng dish’s 11% Critical Rate keeps the stacks almost permanently.

Is Tangtang’s P1 or P2 worth it?

P1 is, per Zimen: Reserve Hoard raises the combo skill multiplier to 1.2 times, cuts its cooldown by 2 seconds and returns 5 more SP per Whirlpool. P2 adds only 7% to 8% damage by his sheet, for about 240 pulls.
